The summer and the time of vacations is here. A lot of parents are working and can not find the time to care for their kids during summer holiday. Therefore this time of year a demand for summer nanny jobs is high.

There are some tasks in the world that we feel comfortable doing ourselves and there are other tasks that we feel are better left to the professionals. One job every American family has to accomplish every year is filing their taxes. Some individuals purchase tutorials or take classes in order to learn how to file them on their own.
However, many others refuse to risk it and instead hire an accountant to do the work for them. Other people enjoy doing the handyman work around their homes; others simply feel safer having a contractor or a plumber fix everything. When it comes to finding the right childcare assistant, some parents do all the advertising, interviewing, and hiring themselves. Others, however, would much prefer to hire an agency babysitter.
An agency is a company that matches professional babysitters with interested families. The degree to which agencies are involved in the process varies greatly from agency to agency. If you chose to go this route, then you need to research which company is right for you. Some agencies are much more “hands-off” then others. These will read over your application and, according to your family’s needs, give you a list of potential babysitters on their roster that would work best.
The rest of the work is in your hands. You then need to interview each candidate in order to find the person you want to hire. On the other end of the spectrum, a different agency might do every step of the process for you from compiling a list of candidates to narrowing them down to the one person that they think will work out best for your family.
The most obvious downside of hiring an agency babysitter, of course, is the cost. Most agencies do very thorough background checks on all of their sitters and some even pay for childcare courses so that their sitters are the best in the business. This extensive research, however, does cost the parents. There are application fees, membership and processing fees, and placement fees. These costs are before you even pay the babysitter herself for her services!
And for that reason, before you hire a babysitter it is advisable to get a list of babysitter rates of your area to know exactly what kind of costs you can expect.
Therefore deciding to hire an agency can be extremely expensive, but you know that these individuals are all thoroughly trained childcare assistants. If you are looking for a long-term or a live-in nanny, an agency is usually a good choice. If you need someone to watch you children on a 1000 Saturday night, it is better to find a sitter yourself and avoid all those fees!
